Questions

Questions we get asked

How does an engagement start?
A 30-minute call to understand the work. If it's a fit, we send a written proposal within a week: scope, phases, price, and what's excluded. Work starts once the agreement is signed; the payment schedule is set out in the proposal.
How do contracts and invoicing work from Uruguay?
You contract with our Uruguayan company, Loxben Apps SAS, under a written services agreement. We invoice monthly in US dollars; the payment method and any tax paperwork for your jurisdiction are confirmed in the proposal before work starts.
What about time zones?
Montevideo is UTC−3 all year. That's one to two hours ahead of US Eastern and four to five ahead of Pacific, so our working day overlaps fully with the East Coast and with Pacific mornings.
Who owns the work?
You do. Code, infrastructure and documentation we produce for you are yours on payment, and they live in your repositories and accounts from day one. What we keep, if anything, is limited to the generic tooling and know-how we brought in, and it's set out in the services agreement.
Is there a minimum engagement?
Architecture reviews run from about a week; builds and embedded work are longer, and we confirm the specifics in the proposal. We don't take hourly odd jobs, because the setup cost swamps the work.
Do you work inside our tools and process?
Yes: your repository, issue tracker, CI and code reviews. If you have none yet, we can set up a repository, a tracker and a deployment pipeline that stay yours; we agree the tooling in the proposal.
